Workshop Media Co. is a small studio in Sammamish, Washington, run by Addison Lopez. We check contractors against the public record for the people about to hire them, and we build contractor lists for the people who sell to contractors. Every finding in a report names its source and the day it was checked; every number in a list's listing is counted from the file you download.
What we make
- Contractor Due Diligence. One report on the contractor you are about to hire, within two business days: the license or registration with the state board (all 50 states and DC), the bond and liability insurance on file, the business entity, the discipline and complaints the board publishes, federal civil and bankruptcy cases and the county's public court records, and building permits under their name, with the questions to settle before you sign. See the sample report.
- Contractor Lists. Plumbing, electrical, HVAC and roofing businesses for a metro, built from Overture Maps places (open map data from the foundation started by Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and TomTom) and joined to the state license registry where the state publishes one: Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Colorado today. The New Washington Contractors list is each month's newly licensed companies in the state, with the owner on record. Each listing says how many rows carry an owner, license dates, a website and a published business email, counted from the file. New edition each month; one free refresh on request.
What you can hold us to
- Reports: within two business days of your details. If a state's records are down or the contractor cannot be identified, we tell you within one business day and refund in full if you ask. A report records what public sources showed on the dates given; it is not a consumer report, not legal advice and not a rating of any contractor.
- Lists: bad rows (a disconnected phone, a bouncing business email) replaced free within 30 days. Single-company license.
- No scraped personal email addresses, no LinkedIn scraping, no invented reviews. If a claim on a page cannot be checked against the file, tell us and we will fix the page.
